IN 8 KALI AUDIO - 3-way active reference monitor

Kali Audio's IN-8 is a 3-way studio monitor with an 8-inch woofer and a 4-inch midrange with a 1-inch coaxial tweeter. The unique architecture of the midrange and tweeter eliminates off-axis lobing, giving the IN-8 an incredibly accurate, lifelike stereo image. The power of the stereo image, combined with the clarity of the speakers in general, make it extremely easy to build up a complete, detailed picture of your mix. Every aspect of your mix is presented clearly and accurately, so you can dial in exactly the sound you want.

The IN-8 features an 8-inch woofer, a 4-inch mid-range driver and a 1-inch soft dome tweeter. The mid-range driver and tweeter coincide, which means they share the same acoustic center. You may have heard the terms "coaxial" or "concentric" to describe this arrangement. These terms are also technically correct.

Due to the accidental placement of the mid-range and the tweeter, and the crossover from the woofer to the mid-range (330 Hz,), the IN-8 is an acoustic point source. This gives it an ideal directional characteristic for a studio monitor. You'll hear a very lifelike stereo image, where the details are clearly and consistently placed. Off-axis lobing, which is unavoidable in a 2-way system, is virtually eliminated with the IN-8.

Much work has been done to optimize the mid-range driver, not only for its own acoustic performance, but also for its role as the waveguide for the tweeter. The shape is very precise to allow controlled directionality in the midrange to the tweeter crossover, ensuring an accurate addition of both on- and off-axis. Midrange excursion is limited to less than 1mm peak to peak, so the midrange oscillation has no negative effect on the tweeter.

In addition, the IN-8 includes all the benefits of Kali's Lone Pine series monitors. For example, there are optimized woofers for powerful, clean bass, a port tube fired from the front, and our boundary compensation EQs.

Coaxial midrange and tweeter

The unique architecture of the Midrange and Tweeter eliminates off-axis lobes, giving the IN-8 an incredibly accurate, lifelike stereo image.

Low Noise Port Tube

The IN-8 has the clean, snappy bass of a loudspeaker with very little port tube noise.

Bass power

The bass on the IN-8 comes from a larger magnet and voice coil than any other comparable loudspeaker on the market. This gives you more accurate bass reproduction that extends lower, so you can dial in exactly the low-end sound you need.

XLR, TRS and RCA inputs

The IN-8 has balanced XLR and TRS inputs and an unbalanced RCA input.

The RCA input can be set to -10 dBu sensitivity when using consumer equipment such as the headphone jack on a laptop or smartphone.
