Featuring a gold-plated 1/2-inch cardioid condenser capsule, it delivers smooth, balanced sound with very low background noise. Its exceptionally accurate cardioid polar pattern and wide frequency response make the NT5 the ideal choice for recording everything from acoustic instruments to overhead drum and cymbal mics, as well as for live performances and field dialogue.

To expand the NT5's versatility, an interchangeable omnidirectional capsule (NT45-O) is also available separately.
