Pure and natural audio reproduction: The SM4 is equipped with a brass 1-inch dual-diaphragm capsule, capturing clear, controlled low-end and pure, detailed highs. The uniform cardioid polar pattern offers superior off-axis rejection of unwanted noise, and the large “sweet spot” reduces the proximity effect.  

Patent-pending interference shielding technology 

Blocks unwanted RF noise from commonly used wireless devices such as cell phones, laptops, and Wi-Fi routers. The Proprietary System features an integrated pop filter and a woven mesh Faraday cage that shields the microphone capsule for clean audio capture.

Shock mount & detachable magnetic pop filter

Included with the SM4 Home Recording Kit and also available separately, the shock mount and detachable pop filter reject unwanted noise, including rumble, vibration, and plosive “pop” sounds. Combined with the microphone's internal pop filter, the detachable pop filter creates a two-stage filter system that dramatically helps reduce plosives.
